Top issues during term (4)
housing development
More apartments could ease rent pressure and bring permit or fee revenue, but the city will also face costs for streets, utilities, and services.
police misconduct
Taxpayers could end up covering investigation costs, legal defense, or settlements—and trust in the department takes a hit.
transit infrastructure permitting
There’s no dollar figure in the notice, but the permit clears a public transit project that could shift construction costs, bus operations, and Highway 1 congestion.
property ownership dispute
Taxpayers and the city could face higher costs or lost development revenue if the debts and delays keep growing.
