Marina Parking Requirement Study
The city is studying whether the rule requiring three-quarters of a parking space per boat slip still reflects real demand. Findings could lead to zoning and coastal plan changes affecting parking at King Harbor — and boaters worry reduced requirements now could hurt them when marinas fill back up.
North Redondo bike network praise
Council Member Obagi celebrated riding protected bike lanes from North Redondo to the beach, calling Redondo the most bike-friendly city in the South Bay.
Riviera Village Pedestrian and Multi-Modal Enhancements
The city accepted a $4 million Metro grant to design and engineer safety and pedestrian upgrades in Riviera Village, improving walkability and streetscapes.
Artesia Boulevard Safety Improvements Completed
A resident flagged pine cones from trees planted on Artesia hitting cars — a real hazard for drivers at 30–40 mph — and a near-miss crossing Artesia on foot, asking for tree trimming funding and better crosswalk markings.
Proposed additional street parking in Golden Hills neighborhood
The Golden Hills neighborhood has almost no legal street parking because nearly every lot frontage is a driveway apron. The plan adds 11 spaces on four recently slurry-sealed streets, and the parked cars double as traffic calming by forcing drivers to slow and negotiate. Supporters say the streets are starved for parking; opponents worry about fire access, driveway egress and reversing danger.
North Prospect Avenue noise and safety
Residents of the 500-600 block of North Prospect Avenue again asked for speed tables and a sound/safety wall, saying traffic noise hits 85-95 decibels and hurts property values. They feel their CIP request was snubbed last year in favor of pickleball courts.
Caltrans PCH improvement project scope at Palos Verdes Boulevard
Caltrans is rebuilding PCH through town, and the city told it to skip a planned right-turn lane that data show isn't needed — instead the money goes to pedestrian safety, trees on the Eddy Redondo frontage, and repairing the cross gutters that have been chewing up cars between Knob Hill and Avenue H.
Palos Verdes Boulevard protected bike lanes
The final design swaps mostly-unused street parking for protected bike lanes with concrete barriers between PCH and South Irena. It would be the city's second protected bike lane and could be built during this summer's slurry seal.
Bicycle Lane Usage and Implementation
Public Works updated the Youth Commission on how bike lanes are being used across Redondo Beach and how the city plans future implementations to improve safety and connectivity.
Avenue G / Palos Verdes Boulevard all-way stop request
Scott Kroll says he's been reporting dangerous conditions at Avenue G and PVB since 2008, has survey data showing 95-100% support, and got a private email from Councilmember Waller admitting 'he dropped the ball.' He asked the council to order a full safety evaluation.
North Prospect Avenue median and streetscape promises
Daryl Boyd and Mark Nelson said the city manager walked their block but the promised trees, traffic calming and noise fixes still haven't materialized — and they took shots at the mayor and their district councilmember for not engaging.
Speed Cushions on Avenue F
Residents on the 300 block of Avenue F say drivers cut the corner between PCH and PV Boulevard to dodge lights, hitting 32+ mph on a block full of young families. Speed cushions at three locations are now headed to the City Council.
Opal & Irena Intersection Traffic Calming
Residents near Opal Street and Irena Avenue are concerned about vehicle speeds and cut-through traffic. The commission reviewed potential physical measures to slow cars down and protect neighborhood pedestrians.
Residential parking shortage near Riviera Village
A 26-year Camino de la Costa resident asked the council to address parking losses caused by village street closures and parklets that leave residents circling for half an hour.
Kingsdale Avenue Resurfacing Completion
The Kingsdale Avenue resurfacing project between Grant Avenue and 182nd Street was up for acceptance as complete, with a final $59,103 payment to the contractor after the lien period.
Residential Street Rehabilitation
The City awarded a multi-million dollar contract to repave and repair neighborhood streets across Redondo Beach.
Graduation Parking Suspension
Preferential parking rules in the Vincent and Vincent 2 districts would be suspended for limited hours on June 11 and 12, 2026, so families can park during middle school commencement and high school graduation ceremonies.
