Winter storm and El Niño preparedness
The city is bracing for a potentially wet winter, offering free sandbags at four fire stations and urging residents to build 10-day emergency kits. Crews are clearing storm drains, V-ditches, and underpasses.
Fire dispatch services agreement
The renewed Verdugo Fire Communications agreement keeps West Covina tied into the regional 911 dispatch network for three more years with two possible extensions.
