mixed-use redevelopment at Fashion Valley Mall
Fashion Valley’s owner wants to tear down the old JCPenney and replace it with 410 apartments plus new shops—a major housing shift in Mission Valley. It’s the kind of project that could reshape traffic, parking, and what the mall looks like, so it’s worth paying attention to.
Data Center Development

Surplus land at 4069 30th Street
The city declared a 30th Street property surplus, opening it up for future use. Council President LaCava wants any solicitation to favor leasing over selling, which he argues can produce more truly affordable housing.
10509 Vista Sorrento Parkway project appeal
A planned 112,400-square-foot office building and six-story parking garage in Mira Mesa survived an environmental appeal. The council agreed the project's traffic and noise impacts were already covered by the community plan's environmental analysis.
