Measure M ballot measure endorsement
The Sacramento Bee’s editorial board is opposing Measure M, calling it a possible “stink bomb” on the ballot. It’s an opinion endorsement, not a neutral review, so it may shape how voters see the measure but doesn’t change the measure itself.
Data Center Regulation
Sacramento is hitting the brakes on new data centers because they suck up too much water and power while the state drags its feet on rules. Since the state isn't fixing it fast enough, local officials are stepping up to write their own playbook for these giant tech warehouses.
Plaza Renaming
Sacramento's downtown Cesar Chavez Plaza is keeping its name after a local commission officially rejected a proposal to switch it to Union Plaza. The historic park won't be seeing any identity changes anytime soon.
