Library Solar Construction Impacts
The county library's solar project has the site fenced off for about five more weeks, temporarily reducing usable space at the library.
Rosemead Rain Garden Project
The city plans to turn the bare, eroded landscape next to the Community Recreation Center into a rain garden with native plants, trees, and swales that capture stormwater instead of letting it run into the street. Over 100,000 gallons a year could be captured, recharging groundwater and filtering pollutants naturally.
Street Litter and Trash Infrastructure
Two Rosemead High students asked the city to install bigger, three-bin sorting trash cans at bus stops, parks, and fast-food areas, citing litter blowing into the Rio Hondo and over 100 petition signatures. Staff was directed to connect them with the beautification commission and public works.
