Hazardous Fallen Oak Tree on Capistrano/Mountain View Hillside
A resident flagged a large fallen oak on a steep slope above homes on Capistrano Way. The city's system closed his report because the tree sits more than 100 feet from the property line — he asked the council to look again given El Niño slide risk.
Police equipment and grant funding
The police department is replacing six aging Tahoe patrol and supervisor vehicles and received a $63,000 federal homeland security grant for a year of Peregrine crime-analysis software.
Barking dog enforcement and basketball hoops in streets
A resident asked for stronger animal-control enforcement on chronic barking and for removal of basketball hoops obstructing residential streets; the city referred the hoop issue to code enforcement.
Fire Chief Appointment
Rocklin has a new fire chief: Tilden Billiter is now leading the department that responds when residents call 911. The appointment puts a permanent leader in charge of local emergency fire response.
Remote public comment required by state law
Starting July 1, council meetings must offer Zoom participation under SB 707, and the council adopted a disruption policy. Some members worry about endless call-ins and mandate costs.
