Placer Creek Apartments CFD annexations
The Placer Creek Apartments are being annexed into two special tax districts — one for fire services, one for parks and lighting upkeep. No public protest was filed and the special election passed 11-0.
Midas Apartments affordable housing project
A 281-unit, four-story 100% affordable apartment complex proposed at Midas Avenue and Pacific Street has divided the community. Neighbors fear traffic, train-crossing backups, and pipeline safety risks; supporters say Rocklin needs housing for young workers priced out. The council continued the decision to study more options.
Sierra Wilds Apartments — 120 affordable units next to St. Augustine school
A 120-unit affordable apartment project (118 affordable units) at 1800 Wildcat Boulevard sits directly beside a public charter school serving 330 students. Parents and teachers raised fire access, evacuation, construction noise, dust, air quality, parking, and traffic concerns, while the state HCD says the city must approve it by right. The council continued the hearing to September 22 to get more answers.
