County Road Commissioner Appointment
The county hired a licensed civil engineer to sign off on in-house road projects at $250/hour (NCE) until a permanent Public Works director is hired. Only two firms applied — both existing county contractors — prompting a resident to question the lack of competition.
South Main Street and Soda Bay Road corridor project
After roughly 30 years of planning, the Board approved plans and specs and authorized bid advertising, with a contract award deadline at the end of December to keep funding; the project bundles road, water, and undergrounding work with the City of Lakeport.
Upper Lake Stop Sign Change
Public Works proposed removing a stop sign on Second Street and installing one on Middle Creek Road in Upper Lake — a traffic safety change locals would notice daily.
SB 1 road project list adopted
The Board locked in the FY 2026/27 list of road projects funded by state SB 1 gas-tax dollars and took a look at the five-year transportation program.
2026 Chip Seal Pavement Preservation Program
The county bought roughly $1.3 million in chip seal materials — aggregate from Granite Construction and emulsion from Western Emulsion — to resurface county roads this year.
