Truck routes and road damage

Hemet's 271 miles of roads score a 63 out of 100 — below the national average — with over 20% in the worst condition category. Keeping roads from getting worse would cost about $13 million a year; the city budgets $5 million. Commissioners flagged this as a case for directing Measure Q funds toward streets.
