Civic Issues
Topics getting the most attention in Half Moon Bay, CA public meetings, ranked by how frequently they are discussed.
3 issues with medium priority
State Housing Mandate Dispute
California is pressuring Half Moon Bay to comply with state housing mandates, and the fight could change what gets built and how much say the city has over development. If the state pushes harder, expect more scrutiny of local housing plans and possible consequences for the city.
Farmworker Housing Development
Half Moon Bay is under state pressure to fast-track a farmworker housing project, which could shape who can afford to live and work on the Coastside. The fight is less about paperwork and more about whether the people growing local food get a stable place to stay.
Beach Parking Lot Closures
Half Moon Bay and the state just closed beach parking lots along the coast. If you were planning a beach trip this weekend, plan ahead—you’ll need another way to get there or another place to park.
