Ribbon Cutting for New Letterman Trail

Residents in the heart of Clovis now have a newly improved and expanded path to walk, run, and recreate – the Letterman Trail – made possible by federal grant funding and a partnership between the City of Clovis and the Fresno Irrigation District (FID). Named in honor of fallen Clovis firefighter Clinton J. Letterman, the Letterman Trail is just over half a mile long and runs between Barstow and Villa Avenues along the FID Big Dry Creek Canal and through Letterman Park. To mark the occasion, the city is inviting community members to attend a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 8:30 AM along the new trail at the site of a beautiful new gateway near the northwest corner of Letterman Park. The event will include a special ribbon-cutting program featuring remarks from project partners, a memorial presentation by the Clovis Fire Department in remembrance of Fireman Letterman, and an opportunity to explore the new trail.
